Bigbang Festival

The Big Bang Festival, with its rich content and nationally renowned speakers, has an opportunity to reach a new milestone in terms of notoriety.
It is important that this standing is felt through the graphic elements found in all of its communication supports.

Objectives

In order to take a new direction in 2021 and further develop its national reputation, suggestions were focused on a more elegant and mature approach in the lines proposed.
The development of the graphic universe was designed to reflect the continuity and spirit of the festival.

Solutions

“From science to fiction”, the theme of the fifth edition. How can we integrate the concept of space and film, literature and arts, but also reflect the feeling of vastness inspired by our universe and its galaxies? This was the challenge set by the communications department of the Big Bang Festival.
We approached our designs using the principle of contrast.
Contrasting scales first, using a human-scale foreground juxtaposed on an immense background.
Then scientific contrasts, with the reader and humankind evolving in a universe as they would naturally on Earth. Finally, we designed colour tones that alternate between minimalism, solemnity and more fantastical and captivating universes.

A dream of space

Despite advances in science, space remains the source of many fantasies throughout popular culture.

Our aim here was to plunge into these abstract universes in order to tell a story about time, about our origins, but also - and most importantly - about our future.

The creative process

To express our creative potential, we produce our concepts in 3D. We design a virtual world which enables us to act like a photographer in a real-life situation, so that we can then provide a large number of shots and perspectives. We then work on the raw renderings, combining these with photos or painting directly over them to increase their realism or add a tone or feeling.

This way of working enables us to produce a large quantity of images from the very start of the project, creating a wider boundary for creative exploration and offering our clients a huge variety of choice.

Conclusion

Many of us dream of space. And exploring this project was a childhood dream come true for our designers. The designs from previous editions focused primarily on references for young participants, for whom part of the festival’s content is designed. The Big Bang Festival, with its rich content and nationally renowned speakers, now has the opportunity to reach a new milestone in terms of notoriety.
